SPRING '08 PLAYER APPRECIATION DAY
THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE APPEARED IN THE NEW CASTLE NEWS ON TUESDAY MAY 27TH. FOR PHOTOS SEE THE PICTURES TAB. Soccer party The Laurel Soccer Club appreciates its players and on May 17, the club let them know it. Player appreciation day was held at the game field behind the Lawrence County Fairgrounds. More than 400 people attended, with the 4- to 10-year-olds participating in soccer games and skills activities. The event, which is held once each season, includes free food, drinks, face painting and giveaways. HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER BILLBOARD
Many billboards have now been set out. (PHOTOS ON HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER PAGE) The club is producing several of these billboards and are looking for property owners to host one for a short or long term. They measure approximatelly 5' high, 4' wide and 4' front to back. Donations to The clubs' High School Soccer Campaign are paying for the production of these units. In addition, there are smaller versions of the sign now available. If you or someone you know in the Laurel School District would be willing to host a sign (large or small), please email or call with the name, address and phone number. The sign will be delivered, placed in the location of your choosing and staked down. If you would only be willing to host a sign for a month or two, please let us know and arrangements will be made to pick up and relocate the sign when the time comes. Lastly, anyone interested in donating towards the costs of producing these signs, please make a check payable to Laurel Soccer Club, write "High School Campaign" in the memo area and mail to P.O.Box 8926, New Castle, PA 16107. Show your support and continue to let the public know that soccer is not in our high school, although it is in many of the students' hearts.
